When I was a tike at the end of Walabet road in the thick crazy woods of Quebec near Shawville, I was often playing at the beach part of the bay and there there were many many milk plants, thick leaves with viscous white goo inside, monarch caterpillars would be feeding hungrily, fascinating and gross. This is the host plant of the monarch caterpillar, they feed exclusively on milkweed.

So these can travel 50-100 plus miles a day. They arrive in Mexico around the same time as the Day of the Dead, in early November. Winter is spent there, then they start to head back to the beautiful U.S.A. in March.

I once walked from Vanier to St-Isidore. I had a girlfriend’s mom who had a house there with her hubby. We really used to kick it hard me and my gal.!!😃

But, anyways, along the way on THIS WALK, I grabbed a walking stick and trudged along in my super unstoppable health, I’m strong yo! 74 kms, it took a day a night plus plus. I was singing, I was Buddhist, Free Free Free!!! Weird was there were passed out monarch butterflies all over the place, I feel bad still today, I’m crying a bit. SO, I would stop, clasp my hands and bless their little wings and bodies because, well, they were dead.🙃
