Kamyaka

By the river Savasthri

The house of the ascetics

Their Modus Vivendi?

Mental strain and athletic

The Pandavas with their chariots

Traveled for three days fast

To Kamyaka Forest

Their exile in the last

They entered into this land

Forest of great merit

Welcome by the hand

Of the brilliant esoteric

A stone holds firm there

In a garden far beyond

Find it, it will smile

Million dollar koi

The Nippon sun on it’s head

Happy customer

>>>>how they breed these to bare a red dot on their foreheads is beyond me.

Fast fiery star

Tears a cloud in the night sky

Eyes look heavenwards

—Mahakashyapa—

Udunbara bloom

Buddha teaching his sangha

One smiles at the back

This Haiku is based on the story set in Sarnath Deer Park where Gautama Buddha was giving a sermon. When he had finished he asked the Sangha if anyone had understood. Only the elder monk Mahakashyapa at the back of the hall smiled and presented a flower before the eyes of the master.
