French music with Basque, Spanish and jazz influence

My late friend Jean P. told me once that Boris Vian coined the word “Jazz” from the french word jasement, le jasement des instruments, which brings to mind >une pleiade assis au nord du Mont Royale qui discute de toute choses intellect non pas comme des bucherons autours d’un feu dans l’bois au fond du Charlevoix. They called me “Le Phantome du Domaine” in le Charlevoix, so many memories there!

Ehm, my orchestra conducting teacher at U of M was taught by Pierre Boulez, Bernstein, I like Boulez’s stuff, and Bernstein too, but Toscanini is the best!

And my x,

Here is the second movement, I played a similar thing on the piano when younger, thinking this movement was in G but it is in E, it sounded good, I…….oh babae!!!! This piece.

Ravel played this over and over again to get it. He said he really nearly died.

I thank you very much!

Nico
