What’s the most money you’ve ever spent on a meal? Was it worth it?
I think it would have to be a payment I made by handshake one morning.
A sober aboriginal guy came to the big city from the north and we were a huge gang on the bridge that autumn morning. The guy broke his sobriety and bought us all a ton of beer, being a gang of broke-ass misfits lol. Actually, we were mostly Inuk and Cree with the rare “excellent stand-up” white guys, me this😁. So beer, then it was a trip to the diner called Jellows in the market and the guy bought us all styrofoam boxed breakfasts of egg, bacon, sausage, orange slices, toast, etc. We all feasted behing the “gate” at the men’s Mission here. Do this and that, but the thing is……..later that afternoon, I was alone I think for some reason walking about drunk in the sun and chill air and>from a block away I witnessed the aboriginal guy being cuffed by a couple cops next to a parked cruiser. Woops, welcome back, Kotter…. yikes, to wake up in the drunk tank, hopefully he was not completely broke, he didn’t look it, but you never know.
Quite expensive lol.
