Hi, one dark blissful night the moon led me through Chinatown carrying my guitar and a six-pack of Budweiser beer. I lived right at the street where now stands the Beautiful Chinese archway across Somerset Street and the air was warm and vitally energetic but real cool ohhhhhhh! The Liquor of Night sums it up!
I was alone and headed to my favorite spot, The end of a street where there was an interesting bungalow style house, a set of stairs leading up from there and then>>>>>>> The very impressive Dominican University College of philosophy, gorgeous castle-like looking building. I walked to the side of the building on the grass and sat at the back on a short stone wall, pulled out my guitar, cracked open a beer and started playing Bach’s Lute Suite #4 In E Major with quick breaks for sipping time. So I’m playing really well and the wind is hot and everything so cool when all of a sudden, I guess the monks called it in lol, two police officers showed up, stopped before me, BUT, instead of grabbing the beer and kicking me out of there, just stood there listening to me play, AND I DIDN’T STOP THE BEER SIPS, my god, defiant, lol! But, the cops, which surprised me, started up a conversation about something completely otherwise to the night-bard strumming away to Rodrigo’s Aranjuez before them. There I am playing away, drinking beer, probably on private property, definitely two tickets there lol! And these cool guys are CHILL! I was SO impressed and happy. the cops kept talking then smiling some, watching me play, listening, and this went on for maybe five minutes, then, they turned and walked away in conversation, (music blew their minds you see). What a vibrant windy amazing night. Me it was really the night’s atmosphere you see, that kind of humid summer night where the street lamps buzz high and I don’t know… The Liquor of Night.
Thank you for reading!!!
Cheers!!!
