This is a movie I recommend, I read the book many many years ago and it was sublimely written. Sad, happy, neatly composed in light chapters one by one by the brilliant Milan Kundera
Czech-French novelist. There was another book by him that I read where at the conclusion turned out to be a dream, I can’t find the title. Anyways, Daniel Day Lewis is good and Juliette Binoche is infregginincredible! She can really act this woman. Great in Bleu Blanc Rouge too which I must rewatch. Unfortunate tragic end to The Unbearable Lightness of Being which I won’t describe for perhaps new readers and “good” cinema viewers. Holy Lena Olin as Sabina in a bowler hat! I had forgotten! So, basically it’s a doctor who is addicted to sex then Tereza appears and she loves him, turmoil ensues when the Russians invade and she is arrested for a bit. Eventually she sleeps with an engineer who may have been set up, this sort of thing. Great book! Highly recommended! And the movie is good, but NO alternative to the book I’ll say. Binoche rides it home for me! What a spectacular actress!
Cheers!

(I could not find a non priced up pic of the book)
