Hi, I believe that the city I am in should have a distinct Korean Town, I am aware that neighborhoods such as this must develop over time with regards to cultural population but why not a couple block of hangul awesomeness? I just love Korean jazz SO much! There was a restau. downtown called arirang that was apparently zeyer gut but it closed. Another grocery and restau. in Centertown which was brilliant!! Their breakfast was yum! Egg, groundbeef, rice, SO GOOD! It shut down BUT!! There is Mu Goong Hwa Garden restau. named after the hibiscus which is Korea’s national flower. Never been but I’ll check it out. You know I just finished reading about the GIANT Korean dragon….the Yong Wang! Fascinating! To follow up on my post where I wrote of Imujis these Yong were once the Imuji. It is said that the Koreans believe that ALL dragons come from Korea. From there they went to China and Japan where they developped different numbers of toes. 3 for the Ryu of Japan, 5 for the Loongs of China and their origination in Korea has 4 toes. Yellow or gold they are the Yongs and have white beards and whiskers, the longest beards of all the dragons. They live near water in caves close to volcanic springs that will keep them warm throughout the winters. They feed on musk deer that they hypnotize with a wondrous swaying dance and a call that starts with a yodel that then lowers in tonality to a droning mesmerizing brandishment. The Yong Wang, Dragon Kings are said to protect and control the three seas that surround the Korean Peninsula. Isn’t this bliss? Let us hear and learn more on Korea in my community! I’m REALLY enjoying my research! I even bought some Korean dragon shirts!
