Hi, when I was a kid, payphones in Ottawa cost .25$, now they take. 50$, if there’s one around. So I suppose in my grandparents’ time they were probably free. Lol!!

You know it brings to mind how food in medieval Italy was actually free in the market places, but for the old man with the stick who would chase you down the cobble stone streets after your pockets were full of bananas and oranges. Lol!!

    There is still free food in rural areas here coz I can ask my kind neighbours for fruits and veggies, which Mama also does for them. Yes, inflation is everywhere. It is fun to look back at how life worked before.
