Long day with a wrench

Many years ago.
I was a general helper painter drywall. Snow removal carpet installer.
Assistant plumber. Etc for company in the golden triangle.Go 1 day, I was an assistant to an X biker, X military hardcore VERY cool guy. Our job. Which my mate, my work mate? Dictated for the day was to fix up a bathroom at a local b, and b. We worked for hours and hours doing carpentry to build a bathroom cabinet.  Measure this measure that, saw the wood, screw this screw that, a little bit of glue, doesn’t fit.  Do this, do that? Eventually we got the thing in and it looked pretty good. Except it was of ratty old wood which isn’t good at all. But anyways, we got the job done, I was kind of scratching my head and the guy didn’t look too enthused either.  So we’re kind of b******* about it. And we get back to the stairs up to the top shed. Open the door to do some clean up. And it’s the business shed, and what do we find????? But a beautiful new still in the box brand spanking new bathroom cabinet, he he he.  That was a funny day.

(Excuse the use of a mic to type, it’s easier since I’m a geezer….no no lol)

Thanks!!!

Nico

    1. The origin of geezer is an interesting one. It appears to derive from the now obsolete term guiser, meaning someone who walks around in disguise, a performer in a masquerade. So a word that was used in the Middle Ages to refer to mummers (actors in traditional plays without words) has now simply come to mean bloke.
