New York Time’s Square

.A memory.

When I was in New York it was in the 90s and one evening I really wanted to check out Time’s Square. Bang! It was getting dark, I had escaped from the tour at the age of 16 and decided to sit on a bench in the middle of all those lights and banners, right in the middle of Time’s Square, on an “island” in the middle of where Broadway and 42nd St. collide. I pulled out a Penguin’s Classics copy of The Illiad, sat back and enjoyed the experience. It was before Mayor Rudolph Giuliani cleaned that block up, it was all really crazy. But I enjoyed seeing it all lol! At 16! Hey? Why not lol!

Kinda close to Scorsese’s Taxi Driver scenes…..it was REALLY…….lol

Now It’s really precious and clean hey? As scene on videos.

Merci!!!

Nico

  1. So young, Nico. It’s supposedly good to have a girl sit beside you, too.🤭

  3. Someone should’ve taken a photo of you then. If it was today, you could’ve been snapped so easily isn’t it. That’s a memory to cherish.
