Who are the biggest influences in your life?
Hi, me I’ll get into the guitar.
Erik Clapton (in awe)
Stevie Ray Vaughan (attainable some)
Steve Vai (just the best!)
Jimi Hendrix (so cool!)
Segovia (round large interpretation)
Manuel Barrueco (perfect)
Al Di (ripping way too fast, I still want to try to play that clean and fast)
John Mclaughlin (unfreggin real, Miles’ guy, in Round Midnight movie by dir. Clint Eastwood, met and autographed ticket in Montreal, I looked at his wife in the limo and I said, “He has a really nice wi…….!!!!” Woops, he was looking at me listening, I stopped talking, so shy, he then thought “well okeedokee” it seemed lol, and sat back, and they were off lol. So neat to have interacted with him, I should of talked to him more, anyways!)
Miles Davis (not a guitarist per say, but I dig his style for guitar sound)
Joe Satriani (perfect surfing genius!!!!! Taught Vai, Hammett, etc. A master, and taught THEM Hendrix)
John Scofield (awesome cool jive, no one sounds like him! Live in Montreal.)
Well, there are many more! So you listen, try them out, imitate, homage, practice practice practice, have lots of fun, and then your own style develops! It happens like this! I’m not SUPER pro right, but I can get around some.
Sting said that he took ideas from all over, he said, very smart man!
We’re all playing the same 12 notes! Except in Indian sitar music, this sort of thing.
Oh! Conducting? Pierre Boulez, Karajan, Paolo Bellamia, Bernstein, Toscanini…..etc etc etc
Thank you!
Nico
Here’s Toscanini correcting the dB lol!
What a clip! Hahahaha!!!!!!
